Automotive vinyl FAQ

How long do automotive decals last outdoors and in all weathers?

Our decals are made from premium high-performance polymeric vinyl. Under normal outdoor weather conditions they have an estimated lifespan of 5 to 7 years without fading or lifting at the edges, and are highly resistant to UV rays, rain and frost.

Can the stickers withstand pressure washing and car-wash brushes?

Yes, the decals are 100% waterproof and washable. However, to ensure maximum longevity, we recommend waiting 48 hours after application before the first wash. When using a pressure washer, avoid aiming the jet directly at the edges of the vinyl from closer than 40 cm.

Can applying a decal damage the paint on my car, motorbike or caravan?

No, as long as the vehicle's paint or clear coat is factory-original or of professional quality. The adhesive on our vinyl is solvent-based acrylic, developed specifically for automotive surfaces. When it is time to remove it, the vinyl comes off cleanly without lifting the clear coat.

How do I remove an old or sun-baked decal without leaving marks?

To remove the decal easily, use a hair dryer or heat gun on its lowest setting to warm the vinyl slightly. This softens the adhesive. Peel the sticker off slowly at a 45-degree angle. If any glue residue remains, clean the surface with a soft cloth soaked in isopropyl alcohol or a car-safe adhesive remover.

Can I apply decals to textured surfaces, such as motorbike plastics or caravan bumpers?

Automotive vinyl needs a completely smooth, clean, non-porous surface for optimal adhesion (such as painted bodywork, glass, polished fibreglass or smooth plastics). We do not recommend applying it to textured black plastics, rough surfaces or areas recently treated with automotive silicone or ceramic coatings without thorough prior cleaning.
